Our Mission
We are committed to bringing joyful and celebratory moments to those who need it most. Whether it's a birthday party for disadvantaged youth, a holiday gift exchange for families in need, or a celebration that honors veterans for their service, our experiences bring hope and happiness during times of distress.
About Us
Make it a Moment was founded by Alex Chun and Luke Arizpe, two Mira Costa High School students who are actively involved in their community. Inspired by the famous Maya Angelou quote, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel,” Alex and Luke wanted to do more than just volunteer hours, they wanted to meaningfully connect with the people they serve. Their idea of creating unexpected “surprise and delight” moments for impoverished families and individuals, as well as the organizations who support them, is meant to be a respite that also brings both dignity and hope to those who need it most.

What We Do
Through our partner organizations, we serve people and groups of all ages in the greater Los Angeles area who have been affected by life’s challenging situations.

Our Experiences
These are just a few examples of the types of experiences we can create.
Clothing Fairs
We'll host a clothing drive and supplement it with a fun and engaging Clothing Fair where those in need can attend and "shop" for items for free. Additional elements would include complimentary beverages and snacks, raffle prizes, hygiene product kits, and "essential packs" made up of underwear and socks.
Birthday Celebrations
We provide everything needed for a memorable birthday celebration including cake, decorations, entertaining games and activities, food, beverages and of course, special gifts.
Special Occasion Events
Whether it's a gift exchange, a special holiday banquet for a local food organization, a celebration honoring veterans, or an evening of entertainment at a local nursing home, we'll make sure to bring a smile on people's faces.
Our Partners
The Los Angeles Mission breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty, by stabilizing people in a safe and spiritual environment, connecting them to solutions and walking with them on their journey.
Amigos Unidos is a mother/son service organization providing hands-on support to philanthropies in the Southern California, South Bay communities and the greater Los Angeles area.
Dig 4 Kids is an after-school program, founded by Olympic Gold medalist Eric Fonoimoana, that is committed to providing youth in low-income communities with increased opportunities for academic and athletic achievement.
